TOP 5 BEST ANIMATED MOVIES OF 2019

With so many amazing collection of animated movies realesed in 2019; from sequels to popular movies like Toy Story 2, Frozen 2, The Lego Movie 2, The Lion King and How to Train your Dragon to other beautiful movies like Abominable, Missing Link, Spies in Disguise, The Angry Birds, and Reign of Superman. Picking the best movies of the year will be a difficult task for us and also bear in mind that not all animation movies of 2019 are family friendly, so make sure you check the rating before viewing it with your kids. Lets dive in and check them out.

No 5. The Lego Movie 2

Although it did not live up to the hype of the previous Lego movie, it was still entertaining to watch. This time the heroes of bricksburg had to face a whole new threat ‘‘Lego Duplo’’, invaders from outer space destroying everything faster than they can rebuild. The film stars voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Charlie Day, will Ferrell, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman. With a worldwide gross of over $191 million against a budget of $99 million, the film underperformed at the box office compared to the first two films in the series.

No 4. The Lion King

Another Movie that also did not live up to the hype of the previous Lion King. Its true that the film has good visual effects, and music, but it still lacked purpose compared to the first film and to think it was a box office success makes me wonder how. My favorites will still remain the Timon and Pumbaa of the first Lion King Film. The plot is still the same with the first movie, and it stars voices of actors like ‘‘Billy Eichner’’ as Timon, ‘‘Seth Rogen’’ as Pumbaa, ‘‘Donald Glover’’ as Simba, ‘‘Beyonce Knowles’’ as Nala, and ‘‘Chiwetel Ejiofor’’ as Scar. It Grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide against a budget of $260 million, surpassing Frozen as the highest grossing animated film and also the second highest-grossing film of 2019.

No 3. Frozen 2

Just like all the hype with the original film, Frozen 2 Live up to those Lofty standards and then some. A stunning masterpiece from Disney, and one of the best Animations of the decade. The story follows Elsa (Menzel), Anna(Kristen Bell), Olaf (Josh Gad) Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and Sven who embark on a journey beyond their kingdom to an ancient autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land to find the origin of Elsa’s powers in order to save their kingdom after a mysterious voice calls out to Elsa. The Movie grossed over $1.32 billion worldwide and had lots of nominations including 2 golden globes. I will say I liked it more than the first film, it was more matured and intricate with good music.

No 2. How To Train Your Dragon (Hidden World)

Thrilling, adventurous, action, humorous, you name it, this movie have got it all. It was a worthy successor of the last two films in the series, and one of my favorite DreamWorks movies of all time. It’s very entertaining and the characters are quite charming. The voice cast includes jay baruches as hiccup, Gerald Butler as Stoick, American Ferrera as Astrid, Jonah Hill as Snotlout. Here hiccup and Toothless discovers a home of wild dragons and must work together to keep the peace. The film grossed $621 million worldwide against a budget of $145 million. It won 6 Annie awards including the golden globe award for best animated feature film, and lost to ‘‘Big Hero 6’’ for the academy award for best animated feature film. We can only say Kudos to DreamWorks for a great movie

No 1. Toy Story 4

Another Pixar and Disney classic. A fourth installment in Pixar’s Toy Story series and the sequel to Toy Story 3. The movie introduces new friends likes forky (Tony Hale), Duke Caboon (Keenu Reeves), Bunny (Jordan Peele), Ducky (Keegan-Micheal), and Gabi Gabi (Christina Hendricks) and brings back the old ones for one last road trip adventure with Bonnie. It received lots of positive reviews for its performance and grossed over $1 billion worldwide against a budget of $200 million, becoming the sixth highest grossing film of 2019. While some will say there is no need for a ‘part 4’, I will say it’s the most beautiful and entertaining of them all.
Honorable Mentions: Movies like; The Angry Birds, Spies in Disguise, Missing Link, Abominable, The Secret Life of Pets, Reign of Superman, Klaus, Wonder Pack, and I Lost my Body.
